The Motorcycle Diaries

This blog will have a number of contributors. Namely the four heroes of this adventure.
Tiffany - whom you previously heard from. Certainly the best looking and arguably the most sensible.
Andrew - that's me. Certainly the least sensible and arguably the most athletic.
Holden - aged 9. Certainly the best skater and arguably the coolest.
Phoebe - aged 5. Certainly the best talker and arguably the cutest and most adorable.

Even though we're all still a few months off the hellish flight that will kick this odyssey into action, in some ways it has been part of our lives for the last couple of years. There have been two false starts - both created by my inability to stay employed - and a hell of a lot of planning and dreaming.

Hopefully the coming entries will document a fantastic journey of discovery and a small positive contribution our family can make to a part of the world in need of some help.

But before we get to that, we've still got the last months of school, work and packing up a house to document. I'm exhausted already.

And so we begin ...

Last week our tickets arrived. Four tickets from Sydney to Santiago, then Santiago to Lima; four tickets from San Francisco back to Sydney, three months later ... We looked at them, then quickly put them back in their nifty little travel document pouch and hid them in the office.
It's four months away, but all of a sudden it feels very close.
In less than four months we have to pack up everything we own, and put it into storage. The plan, although it's not much of a plan, is that we will send it down to Hobart, and move down there almost as soon as we get back from The Big Adventure.
